About HP Print Bot

HP Print Bot gives you two ways to print. Use the print button that appears under your files, or issue slash commands directly to the bot.

Invite HP Print Bot to your channels and it will add a print button to any document or photo you and your team share for easy printing.

Slash Commands
Use slash commands to set up and manage your printers, show recent files in the conversation, and send them to your printer.

/add_printer email [name]

This command adds a printer to the list of shared team printers. You can include an optional easy-to-remember name for the printer. If no name is provided a default name will be assigned. To change the printer name use the /rename_printer command.

This command sets the default printer to use when no printer is specified in the /print command. You must specify either the name of the printer or its email address.

This command deletes a shared team printer. You must specify either the name of the printer or its email address.

This command lists the shared team files that can be printed. HP Print Bot currently supports PDF and image files.

/printPrint photos and files

/print [name [url]]

This command prints the most recent team file attachment or a file located by an arbitrary URL.

name ­­- (optional)The name of the printer used for printing. If no name is specified the default printer is used.

url ­­- (optional)A publicly accessible URL that points to printable content (e.g. image, PDF). If no URL is specifed then the most recent team file attachment is printed. If a URL is specifed you must also specify a printer name.

/printer_statusGet current printer status

/printer_status [email | name]

This command reports the status of one or more shared team printers. You may specify a printer name or printer email address to report the status of a single printer. If no name or email is provided then the status of all printers is reported.

This command lists information about each of the shared team printers.

/rename_printerRename a printer

/rename_printer original-name to new-name

This command renames an existing shared team printer. The printer name is used to refer to the printer in other commands (e.g. /print), so choose a name that is easy to remember and type. Note that the 'to' between the name parameters is required.

This command allows you to view and change settings used to print. Each team member has individual print settings for photos and documents. Photo settings are applied to all photo print jobs and document settings are applied to all document print jobs.
